So like the title says im a portly fellow and I need a holster for a g27. I sit all day long at work, bearing that in mind what would you recommend?

Never carried before, so I will be putting alot of stock in your recommendations. I'm also poor at the moment so buying several and trying them out isn't really an option for me.

    vm2 for all day use

some will suggest an mtac - i currently have a vm2 and a ctac and i'm not a huge fan of the gun clipping into the kydex holster (although the leather on an mtac would be more comfortable than the ctac for long periods of time

I'd stay away from Kydex then, it will dig into you. Leather is much more comfortable for us fatties. :hs:

For sitting all day, I would recommend OWB.
I wear Don Hume and Galco holsters of varrying models.

Have a buddy who's a "portly fellow," he uses the crack of his ass for a holster and might I add it works pretty well.

this would be my pick, but it doesnt really fall under the "cheap holsters" category

Call me fat, I'm 6' and 300 lbs and pocket carry a Glock 26 (same size as your 27) in a Don Hume pocket holster without any issues. It carries and conceals well in Docker-style slacks and most shorts, especially those with the big cargo pockets. It doesn't work very well in jeans or jean shorts.
