So I used Nero wav editor to pull out a clip of a wav file on my desktop.

I renamed the clip because the original file was also on my desktop.

Then I took that file, and recoded it to shorten it, and because I was putting it on my desktop, I renamed it again.

Then I posted the song to see if anybody could guess what it was,
and someone was able to show the original title inside of winamp.

What do I have to do to remove all the original title data from the song (clip)?

Delete the song name from within Winamp.

No, I need for somebody else to not be able to see the title in their winamp.

What I don't get is how I could have changed the title twice and have the original info show up in winamp in the first place....

(the original title data is being saved somehow)

Any program that can edit ID3 tags should do.

    open the file in winamp
view the file details in winamp
    change the details in winamp
renaming the file /= renaming the song title

When you delete the song name in Winamp, the tag inside the song file gets erased.

Winamp does this, as per my first post.

I don't use winamp is the main problem.

I solved it by downloading a freeby prog called ID3edit.

    Worked like a charm.
I was trying to make a couple of trivia contests for a one month sub, and the first one I did, I got pwned on it.
The guy spotted the original song title in winamp.

    DOH!

You don't use Winamp? What the hell is wrong with you? Go download it and start using it right now.

No, actually I use the Real Player alternative, and Quicktime alternative with the Kazaalite codec pack.

I don't need all the jazzed up skins, I just need everything to play ftw.

Uh, Right-Click on the file, properties, Summary tab, Advanced Button, delete info, apply.
