Been trying to burn some of my own DvDs, and not copying movies like putting some video clips I have together onto a DvD with a small created menu and such.

Right now I've been using Roxio, but my problem with it is that it says the disc doesn't have enough space unless I compress all the files I'm trying to burn to somewhere around 3.5 gigs and I'm using 4.7 gig DvDs. They show up as 4.38, but still nowhere near 3.5.

Now, once I DID set them to be 3.5 gigs in quality it started encoding, I left it go the night, came back in the morning to get random error number and being told the project was aborted. Right now I hate Roxio pretty bad.

Is it user error or does that software suck and I should get Nero or something? Any advice is welcome... have a lot of these to make and I'd really like to be able to get started.

My problem is what I'm trying to burn is not in iso format or anything that can go straight on a DvD, just avi mostly.
