I got offered the trade of an EOtech 552 for my WASR-10 and 5 mags. List price on a 552 is nearly double what I paid for the WASR a year ago. What do you think, should I take it? Have prices settled?

Guns < Gun accessories in terms of availability right now.

    I would keep the rifle.

i would definately keep the AK + mags vs. an optic.

optics arent in danger of being banned

  5. I'm not an AK fan, but I'd definitely keep the AK in this case.

If you don't want the wasr put it up on gunbroker and take the $500+ you'll get from that set and buy something better than a junky used eotech ;)

I think there's something to that statement. I personally don't like the adjustment system, the reticle blows at night for me, and there is an undeniable reliability problem. If I wanted something that style I'd wait for trjicon's new one at least.

    i agree with him.

between aimpoint and eotech i'll take aimpoint any day of the week.

  12. AFAIK the reliability problem was with the Pre-Rev F. models. Any of them made in the last couple of years are good to go. I've never had a problem with my 512.

A year ago, that would have been a fair enough swap, but going rate on a used EOTech is not more than $400. Today's going rate on the WASR plus mags is definitely more than $400 and there is a much lower chance that "sniper scopes" will be regulated as opposed to "assault weapons".

    Shitty deal.

WASR's right now are going for $500-$600. The 30 rd used steel surplus mags are as high as $15 each now if in good shape, even the low end is around $10 these days, so you are talking $50-$75 worth of mags alone.

No way I'd do that deal.

That was my initial impression as well but now i've heard plenty of stories from people with f revs with the same battery drain type issues. For $500 I won't gamble on the headache.

  17. I should sell mine as one that doesn't have that problem. :x:

It sits on my gun parts rack. I prefer shooting irons anyways.

leave it on and dont touch it. in certain conditions it'll probably last close to that long if not for that long.

Alkaline battery cells dont even last that long :hsughno: Why dont you try it?

  25. I'm not saying you're wrong, as I doubt the claim of up to 50,000 continuous hours too, but CR123 and C2032 batteries aren't alkaline.
