Did this guy really use a MS 1/100 Freedom?

I was wondering how he did that custom work?

maybe he cut out the pieces from the model pieces itself? then reshaped?

    scrap plastic pieces?
    model putty?

    hmmmm need some advice here

might've attached extra pieces onto there, that's what a lot of japanese model builder do, they either attached parts (not gundam, but just any model parts) if you can figure out how to do it or have an access to a bunch of japanese model parts it'll make things a bit easier I think.

My second guess is that they've actually shaved off a small layer of the plastic in that certain area to form the structure/modified pieces, but that's the last thing i'd think, it's more likely attachments.

it's called custom for a reason.

he added mass to it. putty, plastic, something. unless he has a PG, but i think he;s just really good at it and not only does 110% effort, but 150% in making his stand out.

i have seen this many times with the model car ppl.

that's what i meant, the silver pieces are most likely added pieces.
