Just got back from the range I usually go to. I asked if they do transfers and how much it would be and the guy told me that if I bought a gun online or somewhere else and they sell the same gun in the store, then they won't transfer it. What a shitty policy. I was actually planning on getting a year membership for $350 there, but I don't know now.

Any San Diegoans:)mamoru: ) know of a good place that will do transfers without getting butthurt that i don't want to pay twice the price to buy from them?

What range/shop? I'll be sure to avoid them. Sorry but the only FFLs I know of are in Mission Viejo and north of there.

maybe writing them a letter or something explaining to them that they fucking suck would help :dunno: i could type up something generic, professional sounding and we could all print it and spend the 37 cents to mail it to 'em..maybe they'd get the point

Write it up, i'll send it. :bigthumb: I guarantee you they won't give a shit though.

This is really fucking disappointing. I know there are plenty of gun owners on here that are here in CA.

Just an update...I went to another popular range in the area here - http://www.discountgunmart.com/ - and they pretty much said the same thing. I just don't get this. If they charge for doing a transfer, then they're STILL getting SOME money out of it!

They had about the same prices on their Sigs as the other range....$800 for 226R, ~$840 for 229R. Ordnance Outsellers quoted me $699 for a new 229R, and a special deal...229 non-rail, 9mm, two-tone WITh night sights for $669! I may go with that one. Just need to find a good FFL here. They have 2 on file.

Try a pawn shop that sells guns. I know people around here hate pawn shops but they usually do cheap transfers and most of the time they don't give a shit if they sell it or not.

Yeah the two FFL's on file at O.O. are pawn shops. I think I'm gonna just do that. Fuck the gun shops around here.

There's a few places in east county that will do it. El Cajon Gun Exchange is all right, and Hiram's Guns is decent, if a bit slow.

Yea buying in cali just sucks. Many gun stores will even tell you that you have to pay Cali tax as well for used and new
