Reinstalled a freshcopy of windows pro corp to a second HDD I have in my PC.

I want to reformat the old HDD(C -master) and make it a secondary HDD(D -slave) because the second HDD is faster/larger.

boot.ini is still being read from the old HDD (C: master ) - but i can boot to D: slave drive w/o a problem

I need to know what I can do to make sure the PC will read a boot.ini from D: and not C: so that I can reformat C and make it the slave drive.

Your BIOS is what controls which HD it is going to boot from, not the ini file. You can have multiple ini files on multiple drives and only one will be read because only one HD can be booted from. You're better off making your life easier and simply change the jumpers on the HDs, but you can force a "slave" drive to be a boot drive in newer BIOS's.
