Hey there dudes. I know a lot of you guys manage your files from time to time, so I thought you guys would have the best answer to this.

I often like to selectively copy and paste files from my HD over to my external (using windows explorer and good ol alt and ctrl keys). It works but it gets frustrating, since the external is only USB2.0 and I have to WAIT after every individual copy operation.

Where can I find software that lets me create a file/folder compilation that can be copied LATER via a scheduler? It would be like NERO but instead I'd be copying files to a HD instead of burning dvd's. Oh, and explorer-style folder tree view is necessary. I've searched everywhere, and I can't find anything with a explorer style folder tree view.

    Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Thanks 7960, I checked out the program that you suggested to the other guy. However, I think we're looking for different things. He needs a folder syncronization app, and I'm looking for more of a single-click mass scheduled copy from multiple-sources to a destination app (explorer-interfaced & nero compilation fashion).

Just for anyone out there who is looking for the same thing, I just stumbled upon two apps that ALMOST fit the bill:

    http://www.acebackup.com/screenshots.htm
    http://www.acebackup.com/b/Main_New.gif

    or

    http://www.jam-software.com/smartbackup
    http://www.jam-software.com/smartbackup/images/sb_ss2_gr_en.gif

AceBackup ALMOST has the interface/functionality I'm looking for, but:

    (1) after copying, it uses some proprietary folder structure such as:

    Destdrive:\blahblah\blahblah\blahblah\YOUR COMPILATION STRUCTURE

    (2) There is no manipulation of the "project's" folder structure, etc. You can only copy files in the same folder tree as they already are from your sources.

As for the the latter one.....it uses checkboxes instead of a prepared compilation in order to select files/folders to select.

    More suggestions please!
