This is going in a Toyota Tundra Double Cab pickup, the planned enclosure for the subs will be a custom "L" shaped (non-ported) box that will replace the center rear seat. The component speakers will be installed in the stock speaker housings.

    Panasonic CQ-C8305U head unit
    Focal 165VR component speakers
Infinity Reference 475a (driving the Focals)
Kicker CompVR 07CVR124 x2 in a custom "L" shaped box to replace the center rear seat.
Alpine MRP-M850 To drive the subs
    1 Farad capacitor

I had a similar setup in my old vehicle with regards to the head unit and amps using the infinity kappa perfect series of speakers; the sound was phenomenal with any genre of music you threw at it. I'm hoping to recreate the same level of SQ with this setup.

it's late and ive been racking my brain all day.. but why you only giving the subs 250rms each?

Are you gonna be glassing the rear enclosure?

Setup looks good, though not a kicker fan myself. :hs:

IMO you're better off upgrading your big 3 rather than getting a cap. Some people swear by caps though so who knows.

cvr's don't need much more than about 250 watts. it should be a decent system. If it were me, I might consider a nicer single sub setup than the 2 subs you've picked.

cvrs don't sound too hot, imo. I'm not a big fan of kicker.

    capacitor is useless.

it's all personal opinion.. but i'm an alpine and jl fan myself..

you could wire an Alpine Type R or JL W6 to a smaller amp to save money and run 5-600 watts at 2 ohms.

Hell you could even throw all 800rms at the type r and be safe if you set the gain right :hs:

    :ugh:

This isnt a ground pounder system or a high current system. This sort of application is where caps do their job. ;)

I agree with the others, expand your sub options. CVR's are not SQ by any means.

The Type ARGGG is not SQ either. 800w is over kill for an SQ system.

I disagree...but we could go on w/ that debate forever and a day.

    Agreed

Agreed again....well, except for th 800w being overkill...headroom is your friend in SQ.

W6 would be an ok sub, as would a Zapco I-Force, RE Audio SE Series (or even SR Series), IDQ series from Image Dynamics, as well as a host of other subs out there.

    .

IDQ/IDMAX, OZ Matrix Elite, Diamond D6, Memphis M-Class, JL w6v2, SSA Icon, Sundown SD1, Stereo Integrity Mag/BM, CSS SD/SDX, Exodus Shiva-X/Tempest-X, Illusion ND, etc.

Way too many good subs to choose from.

Kickers and SQ don't belong in the same sentence.

Kicker has won a few SQ competitions. Their amps make good, clean power and their processing units are fantastic.

you'd be surprised at how good a kicker can sound with a good build.
