My Fenix L1P (earlier model) is on its third switch.

When the first one died, I emailed the most department honorable service customer and inquired about replacement. They put me in touch with a reputably happy dealer in the US who sent me a baggie of replacement switches.

It's not a life/death tool, but as a bright light barely bigger than the AA powering it, I'm satisfied with it for now.

What's with the hardon for Cree's? Seoul makes awesome and efficient LED's also.

If you want small, I'd look into an L1 or E1L or whatever the new head single cell light it. I carry a modded E2L w/ a Seoul P4 and reflector (KL1-RS)

I understand that's your catch phrase there. Any logical explanation?

Q5 is brighter and more efficient than P4? :dunno: If Seoul is your thing, the new P7 sounds pretty nice.

Haven't had any problems with my Fenix lights other than those that I have caused. Customer service and warranty is great in my opinion. Fenix-store.com does good.

I don't have any Surefire lights to compare mine to.

By how much tho. Granted my research is a tiny bit old (month+) but I haven't heard anything ground breaking since the Seoul P4's came out. Cree's and Seoul 's are only getting better like on a +5% basis. Not as drastic as like the LuxIII to P4 jump in efficiency.

This is true. The new R2 is marginally brighter than the Q5. No real reason for me to buy another light until an R4 or R5 LED is in production.

:werd: The R2 is the shit. Just go to dealextreme and buy a P60 drop in lamp and whatever surefire host you want if you want Surefire build quality. Or go the logical route and buy a host from dealextreme as well.

I have the Fenix P1D CE it's fucking awesome. Hooks into my key chain and it's good to go.

After a year or so, the key chain attachment that has a swivel on it. I guess the hole stretched or something and it would slip right out. I just grabbed some pillars and squeezed the ring. It's back on tight agan. :coold:

But the light itself is amazing. Bright and compact. It does get warm if you use it for an extented period of time. But with these tiny lights, that's not it's purpose.

my light has the cree q5 in it and its super bright. id imagine that these will perform the same way. i like the fact that its a drop in module so in the future when a brighter led comes out it can be dropped in

Do any of the cheap deal extreme lights take the same tailcap as a g2? I'd like to get to put a quality tape switch on but it doesn't seem like anyone has tried it.

The Vf on Q5 is said to be higher. The spec says its brighter, but they might actually increase power usage and reduce runtime.

Basically... if you want really bright and long runtime, you have to go with exotic chemistry like CR123A or big batteries/a lot of batteries (4 x AA )
