Lemme get this straight. Ducati decided to hire someone that has never done a professional photoshoot?

I know everyone has to start somewhere, but you dont usually get your cherry popped with a shoot for a company as large as Ducati, they generallly want someone that has done this before. If you dont even know what to charge I'm guessing you are way over your head and am surprised that a company such as Ducati would hire you.

But you should be a minimum of $3000/day plus all expenses. You should then be charging them a fee for post processing time, delivery fees for either buring cd/dvd or FTP time, and all usage fees depending on what they are using it for.

Remember companies like Ducati are used to spending thousands, if not tens of thousands of dollars on photoshoots.

The way I got this shoot is becuase one of my friends is a co-owner of a dealer that sells ducati. He asked if I was interested I ofcourse said yes. I have never done motorcycle shoots so I was asking for advice not how-to, certain things to avoid and so forth. vwpilot thanks for the input

Oh, so you aren't shooting for Ducati, you are shooting for a Ducati dealer...

    There's a big difference there.

I was asked by the owner because ducati asked them to get one, the photos from what I know will be used on their site. This is all I know from hearing it from the owner.

come on folks yes I know it jumped liek 50 steps but I dont want to disappoint anyone so any input would be great, some things to avoid, things that work well for you. so forth so forth

i guess motorcycles have a lot more texture and detail than cars (particularly naked bikes, engine swingarm etc), so your lighting will probably be much more critical.

and other than that is lighting framing location location location. have fun, be sure to post back with the details of your court case ;)

canon 30D, calumet dual 750 watt travel lights, 50mm f:1.4, 60mm f:2.8 macro, 70-200 L forgot the f-stop, and several tamrons and sigmas. but those are the main three that I use

no the TT shoot was done on the spot, doing an Audi GTG and these were done with a 60mm prime. no lights or flash.
