We really need someone experienced to take a look at these pics. My fiance got her helix pierced at the end of May. During the first few weeks it became really red and was causing a ton of discomfort for her. Went to the doc and was given antibiotic shots and a tetanus shot, the infection went away.

Fast forward to about a week ago and it seems to have become inflamed and causing a good amount of pain.

Does this look like a possible keloid or becoming one or is it just infected?

She does the antibacterial soap every morning in the shower and that is it...she started back up with the sea salt treatments today.

Does she need to take the piercing out?

ok, first stop pulling on her ear like that!!! thats just going to irritate the piercing more. it looks like slight irritation and possibly some hypertrophic scarring(NOT a keloid). tell her to pick either soap or sea salts, there's no need for both. the irritation could be caused by many things, hair products, sleeping, phone use, over-use of cleaning products, dirty bedsheets, lots of possibilities. just try and eliminate or cut-down on as many of those as possible.

    Thank you...

Is hypertrophic scarring something permanent or it will go away after time?
