I'm making a site that will be a general news portal where different authors can post content. However, I'm not sure what I should use to manage everything. Currently, I'm thinking of using Slash(the same thing that runs www.slashdot.com) to run it.

    Is this a good idea?

there are a could of other content management systems such as postnuke, phpnuke, mambo, and the likes... I don't really know slash at all so I can't tell you if its good or not.
