So, I haven't bought a new PC game in years, mostly been buying 360 games. I do have Mass Effect, but that's about it for what I've bought recently. I'm really out of the loop on games and I'm looking for a singleplayer game with an amazing story that is also fairly long (I'd say 15+ hours at least). FPS, RPG, doesn't matter, I like all genres. Anything within the past 3 or so years is fair game.

Before Mass Effect Bioware made Star Wars:Knights of the Old Republic. (the first one, another company made 2nd one)
The story is excellent, combat is meh....but one of my favorite games. It's 6 years old, out of your range...but it's worth it.

I'd suggest Guild Wars if you're not opposed to playing online.

That's really old too and I've already played it. I don't get why people like the PvE, it sucked IMO. :dunno:

Oblivion is one of the best games of the last decade period.

And yes the story isn't bad.

yeah, the game is great, but i put like 120 hours into it and only did about 5 main storyline missions :o

just sayin that it's not exactly a story-driven game :dunno:

I played Morrowind and if Oblivion is like it, it's a good game, but not what I'm looking for right now. I want one where I'm basically guided along with the story, yes, not open world type of game.

Oblivion's story is quite lame. The game itself is pretty hot.

Lost Odyssey is an incredibly linear game. However, I'm still playing it (Disc 4, took almost a year off from console gaming) and have found it quite enjoyable.

That's all I can think of. :wtc:

    you're in the minority :dunno:

95% on gamerankings.com, which is in like the top 20 all-time (if you don't count the same game on multiple platforms)

    Oblivion

Then choose from the 800,000+ addons that will increase playtime/content by about 7.5yrs.

Never played those games, they were before my time. Might have to see if I can find them online somewhere.

If you haven't had the pleasure of playing The Witcher you should do so now.

If you have then you can go down the list:
    1. Beyond Good and Evil
    2. Portal
    3. Fallout 3
    4. Race Driver Grid
    5. Command and Conquer 3+Kane
    6. Vampire the Masquerade

Fallout 3 should take up alot of time if you haven't played it yet.
