I need a new sport coat for a function I'm going to this weekend..

I've heard that a lot of people are now removing the shoulder pads from their sport coats for a more casual look. Anyone doing this?

Probably a little late for this, but from what I've read, yeah the big shoulders look is out *see Hugo Boss*. I've never heard of anybody actually removing the padding from their coats. I just had mine altered and they just took the shoulders in a bit.

If I use shoulderpads, It appears as if I dont have a neck, so im forced to remove mine.

    OK. Good to know.

I didn't end up buying a sport coat, borrowed one from a family member... but I did buy a sweet blazer at Gap... looks great, no pads.

    How so?

Either way - this blazer is not pin stripped, although they do make a pin stripped flavor.

all they are doing is trying to do is make an unconstructed blazer. however one could just go out and buy an unconstructed blazer instead of converting all their old ones

Actually the suits at Gap are quiet nice. Not top quality, but then again it's Gap.

Gap is targeting the metro group, I think.. with their suits and all. I don't think they are targeting the businessman.
