need a new CD-Rom drive

    just get a cd burner with it. $50 or under will get you a black 48x Lite-On burner(very good/reliable brand).

    IMO, you'd be better off going with a burner or a DVD-ROM drive. They aren't really any more expensive and they offer greater versatility. I do a alot of shopping at Newegg.com, but if you watch ads in your local area you can find really good deals. The day after Thanksgiving I picked up a DVD-ROM for free and a 48X CD-RW for $20 after rebates.
    edit: They were both badged CenDynes, but they were really rebadged Lite-Ons.

    i already have a burner

    what are some good/cheap dvd-roms ?
