Yeah, so I filled this bitch up pretty fast and now I need a bigger bag. I hate the slingshot-one-strap bullshit so I'm looking for a backpack style bag. Something that's not overly bulky.

    What needs to fit:

    Gripped D700
    70-200
    50
    85
18-70 (soon to be replaced by 24-70)
    sb600
    sb24
    sb80
    sb800
on occasion an extra body with 12-24

I was looking at this bag:

I'm trying to get something -250 but also something that I won't have to replace for years.

    Suggestions?

In for this. My Slingshot 200 is getting too small as well.

Edit: Actually, I think I'll start my own thread at another time. I've got a few things I'm looking for in a bag but don't want to hijack

For a scheduled shoot, yeah. I would hate to be in the field and say "Shit, I wish I would've brought ------- but it didn't fit". Doesn't look professional on my part and limits me. Also, if I need a day-bag that's what the slingshot will be used for.

Girth: How big is it in person...like easy to carry back and forth on the train/walk around (I commute to NYC everyday).

I hvae the 15.4" version. Couldn't find the 17" version anywhere. It doesn't even fit my 15" laptop without stretching the zipper

Its big, bulky, and gets heavy with stuff in it. Probably not an everyday commute kinda bag. :dunno:

Fair enough. Slingshot for school, this for work. Do you have pics of yours with your gear in it?

It was a good idea at the time I got it, but with a bad shoulder and the amount of gear I'm carrying now it's not even practical as my main bag anymore. The slingshot design is good for one body a lens or two and a flash...after that it starts feeling like a small brick on one side of the body.

    yeah, thats true

with specific shoots i can usually get away without having to change lenses but theres always 2 cameras with a 70-200 and a 24-70

I'd entertain purchasing your slingshot 200 from you once you get your new bag.

I ended up going with another one instead. I went to the store and they only had the rolling version of the computrekker, which just added unwanted bulk.

Went with that instead. It was 249 at the store but I ran into a girl there that I had a thing with last year so she dropped it to 229 or so, which came out to just under 250 with tax. Overall I'm pretty happy with it...a lot less strain on a single shoulder which is good for me since I have a dislocated clavicle.
