It's hard to find a good 24" monitor that not only displays games well but movies as well :hs: TN panels are the best for gaming since they have the lowest response time/input lag (is there a difference? I've always wondered)

The Acer G24 is nice from what I hear, if you can stand the outrageous colour. It's glossy too, which helps make the colours pop but only if you can control the lighting of your room.

Samsung makes good panels, as does BenQ. Can't give more advice than that I'm afraid, as I'm also in the market for one.

if you want a good monitor for gaming/movies I would look for IPS based panels, wont have the crappy viewing angles or colors of TN based monitors or the huge input lag that (S)-PVA panels have.

The input lag on IPS panels is gen around 12-18ms where as (S)-PVA has 30-70ms. input lag is basically the time it takes the monitor to display the image after it was send from the PC not to be confused with response time. this is esp importent for FPS (online/competivly) as it basicly acts like ping would.

some good 24" IPS based monitors are:
HP LP2475W (very good somewhat expensive)
Philips 240PW9ES (not sure about availibility in the USA, excellent monitor great price)
    Dell Ultrasharp U2410

also a good 26" IPS monitor that is cheap (for an IPS based monitor)
LG W2600HP (also not sure about availibility in the USA)

My panel is currently has a 2ms response time. Would going to a 5ms response time panel be painful for me, someone who games a lot & watched a lot of HD content? That Dell monitor looks pretty sweet, and I hear Dell panels are awesome... the UltraSharp ones, anyway.
