I'm looking into investing in a decent digital camera, around the $800CAN range. Currently I am looking at the Nikon Coolpix 5700. I want a camera that is upgradable (in terms of lenses, flashes, etc.), and one that takes very nice, clean shots. Is this a good camera to get for this price range? Or is there a better one I should be looking at?

    Thanks guys.

    :)

Well with those so called point and shoot digital camera... When you want to upgrade... really your only option is to buy a new camera.

Things that you might still be ablet o use on your new camera are things like memory card (stick to SD/CF, as they are the most popular formats), Maybe... the filters (depends on filter size), wide angle adapaters (unlikely but could work).

If you use a D-SLR, then I suppose you can upgrade your lens, body and flash along the way. But currently the most affordable one is the 300D which will still cost you about $1300 + tax.

I was looking at the 300D, it's a very nice camera, but it's a little more than I am willing to spend at this time. Also, I'm not sure if I'm ready to get into SLR cameras yet. This 5700 looks just right for me. Do you think it's a good idea to buy a demo model off e-bay? The ad said that it was an open box, and it was only missing the Adobe Elements CD (I have PS, so I'm not too worried about that..)
