I am looking for a new bag.
I would like the following gear to fit, plus possibly more in the future

    15" laptop
    Nikon D80
    15-200mm Sigma
    70-300mm Nikor
    25-70 sigma
    SB600

various cables and other PC and SLR accessories

would need to be under $100 shipped

Get a Dakine Mission Photo, or if you want bigger, get a Dakine Sequence.

I fit the following in my Mission:
    40D gripped
    24-70L attached to 40D
    70-200 f4 IS
    Sigma 30mm
    Tokina 11-16
    Hoods for all 4 lenses
    580exII and 430exII
    Kenko 1.4x tc
    Accessories, filters, batteries, etc.
MacBook Pro 15" in neoprene sleve in front pocket +charger

Does the Sequence have the front pocket? Fits my MBP perfectly. I carried all that gear around for two weeks when I traveled over the holidays.

Agreed, it's tight, but it fits if you need it too. I don't carry around all my camera gear + laptop very often though.

yeah, but even without a laptop, it's still damn heavy and downright cumbersome

i mean, i like the pack, but fuck it's big

I'm looking for something similar to you right now..
I've decided on the Whickey and Cox by Crumpler...

But, to answer your question, I tried the Fastpack on the other day at a local store and it felt like I was wearing a cinder block on my back. Try one on before you buy it, just in case!

Yeah, bags are fuckin expensive. 100 is pretty low for all that gear, not to mention that you will prob. get a few more things. I think you'd be better off saving a little more and getting a bag that will allow some growth as well as fit all this stuff comfortably now. I say that cause I just recently moved on from my slingshot200 to a Vertex200. I would say look at the Computrekker. Girth has it, I believe, and he said good things about it when I was looking for a bag

It's like 189 new at BH, a guy I know got it for 90 bucks used there.

    thanks for the info guys.
the 100 is a fairly soft limit, but I am not willing to spend much more.

It's not a matter of savings, but priorities in life ;)
    - I know I know.... I have the wrong priorities, damn wife and child

    Tamrac Expedition 6x.

i'd try it out at the store with your laptop first, though. it fits my dell m1330, no problem.

    it's really comfortable, too

i put all of this shit in there (minus the monopoly game)

I find it really comfortable to carry around, even considering how much weight I load it with. There is an adjustable buckle strap across your chest and also at your waist that can carry some of the burden.

Take a look at the naneu pro tango. I have it and carry my 40D w/ Tamron 17-50 attached, 70-200 f/4 and a 580ex w/ some room left over for a mid size lens. Oh, and it has a slot for laptops. I can fit my Dell XPS 1530 in there just fine, but the bag gets pretty damn heavy with a laptop in there.

Oh, and it's a should bag, but is also convertable to a sling bag with a strap that's hidden in one of the pockets
