I want to start shooting waterfalls and such in the day time. I'd also like to start using the ND filter for other applications that I'm reading about.

However, I'm unsure of which one to get.

Should I go with something like this?

    http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/58716-REG/Tiffen_77ND9_77mm_Neutral_Density_ND_.html

    0.9 - 3 stops

I just don't want to end up with something that doesn't stop it down enough, and I don't want to get something that will be too dark. Going to get a 77mm for my wide angle and get a step-up ring so it can fit my Tamron.

I use 2 .6 filters and it's not enough usually for me. Soon, I will be switching to a 1.2 + one of my .6s + CPL. I use Hi-Tech resen filters with a Cokin P holder. They work great so long as they are clean.

I've been looking at the Hi-Tech filters. I have a Cokin holder with an ND and grad ND filter but not happy with the color cast. I'm leaning towards getting screw on ND filters with step up rings and Hi-Tech for the graduated filters fitting my cokin holder. Where have you been getting hi-tech filters from?

welp yesterday UPS was good to me

tiffen 0.9 ND filter 77mm (not a fan of the tiffen name but it had good reviews-for $40 it looks pretty damn good)

67-77 and 52-77 step-up rings (lol at the size of the 52-77)

Nikon Remote for taking nudes of myself.

 these little accessories are more fun than receiving a lens

One of the circles, aka Dupont or something would be cool. Try a few of the bars with a 2nd floor balcony perhaps? :dunno:

As for snow shots, definitely get the Monument, White House, Mall, a wide shot of the city too. Wish I was back in time before the snow starts to get cleared away.

I love my B+W 110 10 stop ND. If you're buying I'd suggest you also get a grad nd to control the exposure on the sky.

all I gotta say is DON'T buy / use any old piece of shit ND filter. it will KILL your IQ ( image quality )

I would get anything from B+W.....pricey but worth it. I have all my UV, ND, and CP's from them usually $100+ each...so be prepared
