Might get orders for recruiting. Any advice?
Here's one of the best things you can do for your recruiting career:
Make good friends with the other service recruiters in your building, and work with them. Learn what some of their minimum standards are, and some of their basic job and program offerings are. Every once in a while you're gonna get a kid in your office that you just can't help, but the Army or Marine Corps could probably help him out. You'll find that they'll do the same for you, in particular the Marine recruiters. They'll get someone every once in a while that insists on a medical or dental job, and if you've got a good rapport with them, they'll walk the kid into your office. I did, and I got the kid what he ultimately wanted; a good job in the military. I got paid back for it too -- The Army recruiters would always bring me the kids they couldn't get a waiver on, and I enlisted all of them.
We helped each other out; they made mission, and I made mission, and every kid that came into our building got the best chance possible to get what they were looking for out of military service.
DON'T EVER LIE TO A KID, ABOUT ANYTHING, FOR ANY REASON, AT ANY TIME, EVER. EVER. Tell the truth 100% of the time, even for the questions that you wish you could lie about. If you tell the complete, undiluted truth, and the kid is still in your office and still wants to sign on the line, THAT'S the kid that you want in your Navy. The kid that you lie to? He's gonna be the bitter, disrespectful Third Class that you run into shortly after leaving your recruiting tour. The discipline problem that will eat up your work time, paper supply, and patience. Those kinds of sailors are created; don't be responsible for making one.
There will probably be more as I think of it.
Don't get caught with high school girls.
Middle school girls are off limits as well.
As are the elementary school girls...
If you do do the hanky panky with the young girls that want to recruit, make sure they're mute.
play it safe...don't date any chick within your recruiting zone...as she's a potential "recruit"
Remember, condoms are cheaper than kids.
1. Do good things and you'll be promoted.
2. Don't get involved in the personal lives of the female DEPs.
3. Re-read number 2.
Nailed it on the fucking head. I've seen plenty of said cases. Don't be a dumbass...do your fucking job as you're supposed to. I also don't want fucking idiots in my Navy.
im looking into going recruiting back home in Houston after i finish my sea time here in about a year
