Hey guys, I am considering trading two of my cars towards a Lincoln Navigator. Do you guys have any suggestions on what year and options should be highest on my priority? This will be the first thing bigger than a sedan that I have ever bought so I'm looking for some input from some more experienced truck people.

My price range is somewhere around 25k.
4x4 not really necessary but would probably be glad that I got it in the long run. Does anyone have any gas mileage comparisons? or even a better suggestion for a truck?

the gas mileage will SUCK. also make sure it has the air suspension so you can hack it for ultra low ride hieght (who drives navi's even on GRASS anyways?)

Typically a full-size SUV will get around 13-15 MPG around town, and 17-20 highway. 4x4 usually sees about a 1MPG drop due to the extra weight.

03-04, minus whale get one fully loaded. that will be the last body style. they're alright, but IMO the first gen navi's had much more room in the front seats. I've driven both, and i'm 6'3" 350#

edit: I think '02 was the last year for the first gen. 5.4 Triton ftw. oh, 26's will fit

eh probably because my stepdad has a denali and one of my best friends has a yukon. I like her yukon, it drives really nice but I'm not a huge fan of its exterior.

The newer the better. If you have the budget for a new one they are practically giving away leftover 2006s. Over $10k off at dealerships around here.

the yukon is a better vehicle... So just because you have a relative and a friend that own one, you're going to get something inferior for the sake of not being the same?

yep i guess you could say that. I don't like the exterior of the yukon as much like i said... The enterior for that matter. How do you think its inferior?

in terms of interior, I prefer the Denali. In terms of exterior, I prefer the Denali. Both are subjective, however. The 6.0L powertrain in the Denali is much better than the Ford, imo. Aftermarket is better too, if that matters to you.

nobody said ghetto. the suspension is controlled completely by sensors and computers. move the sensors so that they read the "new" ride height. and the computers will compensate for it and function normally, just lower. the most ghetto part of the whole deal would be drilling all of four holes (if you wanna go THAT low)

I have an o3 navigator ultimate- i would personally go for an 04 or newer if i had a choice- updated nav system (dvd based versus cd based on 03's)if equiped. i get 14 mpg all hiway driving. intown is right around 9-10 mpg. very comfortable, but underpowered. (although kenny bell makes a very nice supercharger for it ;) ) rear glass does not roll down. only things that have gone wrong with mine are the power running boards got rocks stuck in the gears, and now dont work.... other than that, its been great.
