i got my nape pierced today, trying to get photos, but none of my friends are game enough to look at it atm, let alone take a photo haha

im kinda nervous about it being so close to a major part of my body ie my spinal cord, so im going to be really anal about cleaning it, is there any risk of serious damage from infection? and any tips for cleaning it, my piercer said that a cotton swab with rocksalt+warm water is the best option and clean it off with a anti-bacterial soap and on days im in a rush get a pack of the pre-injection swabs they use, ive also heard a shot glass held over the piercing for a little while is good.
    any advice would be great
    thanks

its not close enough to do any damage. your spinal cord is pretty deep into your body cavity.

for it to even have to get to your spinal corde, it will have to pearce your spine ;) Your safe.

Make sure you don't dry it out... I did that with mine and thats why it lasted a whole 5 weeks.

First sign of rejection pull it too, unless you like a little neck scar ;)

twice a day when i wake up and just before going to bed then with anti-bacterial liquid soap, and during the day i have medicated wipes same one that the piercer uses to prep the area, this sound ok? heh kinda nervous i like the look of it so i wanna reduce the risk of rejection as much as possible.

one in the morning and then at night is sufficient. i wouldnt use those wipes. they're for cleaning the skin PRIOR to the piercing. not really made for after its done.

Just curious to see how the poster of this thread is doing with his piercing. I've been considering getting it done myself, but would appreciate the input as I have read a lot of people reject surface piercings.

I am just really surprised that you got it pierced even though you though it could possibly damage your spinal cord!
