What is this on the left, by the vents? I don't care about the brand or whatever, but what does it do?
Looks like it might give you the temperature of your coffee :hsugh:

Not sure what it is but it doesn't look like a clock. It looks like there are no numbers in the bottom right corner.

How did you get that much detail out of that picture? I just saw smudges that match clock smudges in the upper left.

Well it can't be a clock, it has one arm on it.

I'm voting manifold pressure. Looks like two different colors, and two different scales depending on which way it moves.

The one on the right looks like a boost gauge, so I'm gonna guess the one on the left is a pyrometer. Those two tend to go together.

I suspect it's an EGT gauge, but I'm not sure
It's an RZ, but in the photo it looks like the bad ass Recaros have been replaced with some regular seats :hs:

Not sure, but it doesn't look like a clock. The car is idling and it looks about 45 deg off BDC so that could be a clue.

It sure can look like that but still has 2 arms not one. You can clearly see it has 1 white arm on it.

    I'm just messing around.

Probably a pressure or a/f guage.

I always thought it would be cool to have an accelerometer gauge. In my mind, it would be a white dot that's spring-loaded to sit in the exact center of the gauge face, with a series of concentric circles marking .25g, .50g, .75g, etc, and the white dot would be connected to a weight that would pull it off-center in whichever direction the g-forces were pulling the weight.

It would be pure eye-candy, unless there were some way to make the readout "stick" so it wouldn't jump back to center as soon as you stop accelerating/braking/turning, because it would be bad to be staring at that gauge while you're screwing around -- but eye candy is still good.

There are iPhone apps that do exactly that, and it keeps the max for each direction.

    :dunno:
For an accurate measurement of HP you need to know windspeed and direction, drag coefficient and cross section of the vehicle, suspension reaction and single gear acceleration, and of course vehicle mass. The iPhone has some pretty accelerometers but that application probably doesn't use enough data and obviously is going to tell the user they're making more than they actually are.

Not to mention it'll slide off your dashboard as soon as you punch it.
