It seems that some Russian hackers have been seeding search pages with redirect links
that drop a logger onto your pc.
They redirect your pc to the proper link, so you never know you've been hacked.

How do I know your link isn't one of them?

Watch the youtube video that I linked.

Btw, that's just one of quite a few exploit methods I've read about in the past few years,
where exploits can put stuff on your pc even if you're not downloading anything.

I'm most impressed by how they got on Google so prominently.. god the lengths they must go through.

And umm, if you're fully patched these sorta things don't always work (though not that unoften there are unpatched critical vulnerabilities in IE that can allow webpages to do this stuff).

Right, Firefox and Opera never have any security holes. That they tell anyone about.

I didn't say that. They need to be patched in the same way. I reffered to IE, that is the browser in the video. If you trusted your browser to watch it ;)
Well, at least the Firefox bugs database is open to the public. But security issues like this wouldn't be posted publicly.

you can pay to have your link show up for certain google searches, some are expensive and some are restricted. it's a few cents per click of traffic, but if 1 in 100 clicks gets you credit/banking info, it pays for itself shortly.
