I've bought from aim and found them to be a top notch dealer. Avoid SOG.

:sad2: Well then I'd go with AIM. I've ordered from them before and they had great service. Call and ask what the condition on them is.

Im happy with my Nagant I got from InterOrdnance, although mine is a 91/30
$95 shipped with a hand select bore. Guaranteed to be from '42-'44
Although they did get North and South mixed up on my package and it took an extra week to deliver. :squint:

I've seen m44s go for $80 at gun shows here. I would wait until one came to your area and look there because then you can see the actual one you're going to buy and check to see if the serials match and where it was made if you care about that stuff :dunno:

I may have turned my little brothers friend onto Nagants yesterday.

He came up to my room to check out my new gun safe, and while he was up there he asked me if I knew of any good sporter rifles that were cheap. I asked how cheap, thinking of some mossbergs and stuff.
But whenever he said "I dunno, about $150" I kinda laughed, and said well then one of the only options you have is to get a Nagant or a Mauser and then put a sporterised stock on it

He asks me how much they cost, and I told him that I got mine for $95 shipped with a hand selct bore but I could have gotten it for $75
Then I pulled mine out to show to him and he couldnt believe that some surplus rifles were that cheap.

Up until now hes just been plinking with a semi Remmy .22
Hopefully he takes up gun collecting :)

    :dunno:

Word on surplusrifle.com is that the guy is very honest and good to do business with. From my "e-observations" it seems like the M44s are all in pretty good shape and it's the 91/30s that range from craptacular to nice.

If you want a gun right now, try surplusrifle.com and/or gunboards classifieds.

    None around me :sad2:

I live in VA, too, you'd think milsurp guns would be for sale at the DMV.

That's the site I was looking for but couldn't remember/find it. Thanks. :big grin:

So should I go for a laminated stock? I don't really mind much about serial numbers and looks(as long as it's not too bad); I really just want a shooter in good condition.
