ok so I got the videos from this weekend from my friend:

    http://hezkezl.com/cage/kenvsjohnramirez.avi
this one is my first match in no gi advanced 149, john ramirez is my opponent (black belt) and he beat me by points 4-2

    http://hezkezl.com/cage/kenvsjohntorres.avi
this one is my second match in no gi, john torres is a purple belt, has one of the best guards Ive come across in a while. I was winning 2-0 until he submits me :wtc:

    http://hezkezl.com/cage/ken_gi1.avi
this is my first gi match

    http://hezkezl.com/cage/ken_gi2.avi
second gi match, I get submitted after I make a stupid mistake

    http://hezkezl.com/cage/ken_gi3.avi
third gi match, for 3rd/4th place I win 8-6

and... I have a few other videos hosted on the site to link to my friend when he gets back but just for fun:

this is martin from my school's club competing for the 2nd time ever in the beginners 139 no gi division in his first match.

    http://hezkezl.com/cage/martin2.avi
    second match

    http://hezkezl.com/cage/martin3.avi
third match - he loses by points

    http://hezkezl.com/cage/martin4.avi
for 3rd/4th place, he wins by points

Anyways it was pretty fun overall, learned a lot. Give me feedback after watching the videos!

I have a friend that plays the same game that John Torres does, tall, lanky and likes to play on his back.

And his favorite move is the triangle also, great matches man, you're a beast.

Shoot for some takedowns more! rwar!

congrats on doing so well with johny, but remember black belts vary as much as blue belts. living in CA, ive sparred with a lot of black belts, and some I've been able to hang with very well, and others make me feel like I got run over by a train. Some people end up being promoted more for technical knowledge, and some for competition performance, etc.

    shit, thanks man.

126.5 lbs is low... I think I can cut probably 10 lbs for that but I'm probably going to be at like 135 at the end of the wrestling season.

Do you weigh in right before the matches? Or in the morning/day before??

    thanks

that sounds rough, the people who cut the most weight must have so little energy

I actually kinda like that idea lol

It just means I won't have to cut weight and instead will just have to eat my ass off
