    What's up guy/gals?

First time coming in this section of OT.

First off, I'd like to say that I'm new to the whole getting a tattoo deal and am still in the decision making phase (almost done choosing what I want). To be quite honest, just so you all of an idea of my tastes, I don't really like a lot of tattoo's or body piercings. For myself, I am just looking to get something relatively small, something about the size of a tennis ball (cut it in half and the circumference of it is what I'm talking about). I am looking to get it done on my back (the upper right or left hand shoulder - not sure yet). I'd prefer to get it colourless as well.

My concerns here are split between my lack of knowledge regarding tattoo's as well as the fact that I haven't decided which shoulder and more importantly, I want a saying written in Roman font (in Italian) along with the tattoo, yet I can't come up with anything.

For those who are knowledgeable on the subject of getting tattoos; the whole process, experience, whatever, etc. please queue in!

    Thanks! :wavey:

I checked them out. Got everything sorted out except for what specifically I want written with the tattoo. :noes:

We can't help you with that part. It's on your body and you must live with it.

Oh I know. I just wanted to get people's experiences with their tattoo's... i.e.: did they ever have any concerns, what the experience was like when it was being inked - those kind of things.

If you have any concerns you shouldnt do it :)

What do you mean by experience? As in pain? Or did something exciting happen like a UFO landing into the waiting room of the studio while being tattooed..

I think I feel you dude. When I got my first one I felt the same way. Small, don't want to attract any attention to myself. I went into the whole thing by myself, drew it up, decided on colors, made the appointments, nobody watched or anything.

As far as pain goes I don't think it's that bad, especially with your idea of where you want it. For something that size, you won't spend too much time under the needle. It's not a scary experience at all, and as long as you like what you're getting done it should be awesome. :wiggle:

The hardest part is deciding what you want done, and where you want to get it (establishment).:noes:

just to add to that, first time i got mine done I hadn't eaten all day. Mid-way through I got a little light-headed (get squeemish with blood and such). So the second time I went in I munched on some atomic fireball jawbreakers. Sucking on some candy while you're in the chair keeps your blood-sugar up :)

FluffyWuffums got what I was trying to ask.

I just wanted to know how people felt going through an experience such as this, i.e. some people get excited, some nervous it might turn out bad, whatever... just an idea.

    Thanks!

Get some food on your stomach before you go in for sure. I usually take a bottle of water with me as well. My first few I was nervous/excited but after so many its just another thing. I dont really think anything about it anymore hah.

no offence, but you seem a bit iffy about the whole thing, better to put it off until you are 100% certain about what you want done, and 100% sure you want it.

I got Chi - Rho on a shield (representing Constantine's Armor) on my left arm. I followed that up with a half sleeve snake (since i'm interested in Herpetology) that i'm still in the process of finishing, right now it's just the outline.

    here's a pic (Don't have any close-ups)-

I actually decided against getting any words. I'm strictly getting the Roman image I wanted to get in the first place. I'm calling up the shop I was gonna go to and this is the URL to the artist:

Take a look at his work and leave any feedback.

I decided on my right shoulder, the size and placement, and the image. Pretty excited :)

My only true concern is the cleanliness of the operation.

I was too; I believe I asked if it was a clean needle, watched him put on gloves and open the needles from a hermetically sealed packet. I had no problems with the cleanliness when I got mine done.

Waycool is an extremely clean shop. You'll have no problems getting your work done there.
