    Ok,so im a n00b to macs...I have a few questions.

1.How do I make items on the desktop invisible?

    2.How do I un-install programs?

    1. you talking about expose? system preferences, expose, setup a hot corner.

    2. just drag it from the applications folder to the trash can. empty trash.

    1. not sure exactly what you are looking for

    2. yes. if the program is in a folder within the applications folder, drag the entire folder to the trash then empty the trash.

I'll add to #2 that larger apps tend to have an "uninstall this program" option in the installer package. Say you wanted to uninstall Adobe photoshop, the cleanest way to do that is to run the installer from CD again and select the "uninstall this application" option if there is one.
