buying your first gun online is kind of a hassle. The very first thing is to find a FFL that will do the transfer for you. What a FFL will charge for the transfer can be $35 - $100/10% of firearms value whatever is greater. It really varies by the FFL they can set their own price.

Next you have to find someone who will ship a gun to CA. Not everyone does. You have to pay for the shipping. If this is a handgun this is suppose to be sent next day air early am delivery. If you add insurance on top of that then it can be pretty damn expensive for the shipping.

Often times they kind of drag their feet shipping it because the FFL you use has to fax them a copy of their FFL paperwork. There are horror stories of waits of weeks or months. After the gun arrives at the FFL you have to go in to do the paperwork. Then you still have to wait the 10 days.

See a lot of trouble and unless your saving $100+ over retail from a local gunstore stock your not saving nada. I would recommend only buying online after you got a purchase or two under your belt, and it something that is hard to find in CA.

It is very difficult to run a firearms related bussiness in CA. Support the local economy and your local gunstore and buy something they have in their stock or have them order you your gun (from their distributer.)

ammobros in cerritos is pretty good. I use them to do transfers. They have decent reloaded ammo if you don't reload. They got a decent selection of AK's, AR's, and lowers as well as trijicon acogs, handguns, etc. They have really been stepping it up. www.amobros.com

Turners is the big chain gunstore of course. http://www.turners.com/

Big 5 is good for ruger 10/22's and pump shotguns like the remington 870, and mossberg 500.

www.calguns.net is the CA specific site w/ all the CA gun related stuff. They also got one of the best classified sections. Go to the Calgun forum.

My site www.madtrigger.com has all the competition shooting stuff.

    I work for www.glockworx.com

there is all kinds of shooting ranges in So Cal. So I can't even begin to go into that without a specific location.
