I'm at about the 2 month mark for lifting, and until the past 2 weeks I've either been adding weight or reps consistently every week. The past 2 weeks, I havent been able to increase either on any of my bench related lifts. In fact, i almost smashed myself today going for that last rep on my last bench set and couldnt get it up :o

So for you guys who have been lifting forever, is it normal to go longer periods without progressing, or do i need to change what I'm doing?

Routine is a bastardized version of WS4SB, doing heavy bench/incline/flyes Monday and light/volume of the same on Fridays.

No shit? You didn't lose it all after two months?

Either eat big/get big or eat less and lean up and be content with minimal or no gains.

Or eat a lot but incredibly clean and figure out your macros and sleep well and make incremental but steady gains in both strength and fat loss.

just focus on what you need to do for your primary goal. dont worry about how much weight you can move if your trying to drop lbs.

You can't put a time on how long it takes for the noob gains to stop. Noob gains are caused because your muscles are very neurologically inefficient, and you need to build up more neural connections. Everyone has a different starting point for this though, and athletes will get way fewer noob gains than someone else. Training fewer reps probably speeds up the noob gain process too. I agree with dropping your weights back. To get to the point where you're now failing on reps and not making gains means you're probably cheating more than you used to. See what happens when you go down an increment on all of your lifts but focus on form.

i've done this twice already in a 8 month period. 6 months in, my bench wasn't getting stronger, even with enough food.

took a step back, and learned to work with the weight i knew i could lift. It made the world of a difference.

Hitting a plateau after 2 months is weak-sauce. You're either not eating enough, or not training right.

Either way, whenever you hit any plateau the best way to approach things are to change up the diet (both cals and macros) and your training split. This usually remedies things.

2 months is the absolute most you want to train without gear. I recommend doing a cycle ASAP.
