i am just wondering what's the main difference between FULLTEXT, Index and Key. I think that Key and Index are the same thing?

You can index any field but you can only have one key and it's made up of 1+ indexes. It's a great tool if you want to make sure you don't have duplicate data. For example, you may index each of these fields: first name, last name, phone number, birthdate, SSN, height. But your key would be first name, last name and birthday (assuming SSN could be blank, height and phone number can change).
