Just downloaded and installed the latest Apache and PHP on a Win XP machine along with MySQL and PHPMyAdmin.

    Problem I'm having is:
Never had this problem when I installed them all on Server 2008. Anyways, looking at PHP's website I see:

All the stuff I've Googled as to how to get this to work hasn't helped me. My PHPInfo() doesn't show MySQL linked. Can anyone give me little help here as to where I get the headers for php_mysql.dll?

WAMP bundle should include MySQL and most of that common crap. Did you install it all separately or get a bundle?

    All separate.

I just seem to be missing the php_mysql package which I can't find. PHP's site directs me to MySQL's site, but there's nothing there.

    1. Getting PHP5 to work with MySQL - Official Info [IMG]

Unfortunately PHP5 removed built-in support for MySQL. To get it to work, the easiest way is to copy the mysql library file by hand. Open the folder you unzipped your PHP to. Copy the libmysql.dll file (should be located like C:\php\libmysql.dll ) into your Window's System folder (usually C:\Windows\System32\ although might be C:\WinNT\System\ or something).

Then open up your php.ini in a text editor and search for ;extension=php_mysql.dll and remove the ; infont of that line.

Restart Apache and see if you get any errors. If it complains about "php_mysql.dll" either your extension directory isn't correct or windows can't find libmysql.dll

This is still not solving the problem.

    Event Viewer shows:

Faulting application httpd.exe, version 2.2.14.0, faulting module php5ts.dll, version 5.2.12.12, fault address 0x000f34bc.

Do you have other versions of PHP installed on the system? Happened to me once and took me hours to figure out I was editing the wrong php.ini file.

I'm guessing I should uninstall Apache/PHP/MySQL before running wamp?

I just installed it over top of my Apache/PHP/MySQL and I still get an error in event logs when the program launches. Faulting module php5ts.dll

Because it's just a simple PC that is also running other services (windows only). Not dedicated and won't be heavily used.

K well after uninstalling and reinstalling this shit including manual directory cleaning for the 5th time, MySQL has decided that the service won't run anymore. Some fucking fantastic software package here. Never had a fucking problem with any Microsoft IIS/MSSQL and PHP web installer.

    Error 1067.

    Resolved this by deleting \Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\MySQL

    Then install

Alright well finally got this shit working.

    Used PHP installer
    http://ca.php.net/get/php-5.2.12-win32-installer.msi/from/a/mirror

Which has all modules built in so you can add them with the installer. That worked but I had to comment out the MSSQL module because it errors. Don't need it right now and to tired with this shit to bother.
