so i just installed mySQL on my comp and apache and php also. i have a database ready. so i put my username and password onto the user table, and grant access to the database, cept it wont work when i tell my code to check for password. i have to take the password argument out of mysql_connect() so it'll work. how do i go about fixing this? im new to this stuff so i dont really know much...

also, is there a way to turn on/off warnings?

There's a way to turn off PHP warnings in the php.ini you have in your systemroot directory. I don't remember the exact variable, but it's clearly labeled. As for the mysql problem, check your mysql.ini and make sure that your password is set.
