My wrists hurt after benching/SOHPs

    I have decently strong forearms and I do forearm-specific lifts from time to time. However, the more I bench and press the more they ache.

    What do I do? Wraps?

    wrist flexibility will help. my carpel tunnel is what gets me. sometimes i can get away with no wraps other days i need a wrap to hold on to just the bar.

    I also cast my wraps to keep my hands closed

    sounds silly but i used to get this too alot until i started squeezing the bar harder when i lift :dunno:

    I do a a decent amount of these...static twists, bar stuff/reverse bar stuff, even db stuff sometimes, mainly for my DL grip. I think it's simply the downward pressure on my wrists now that my shoulder can take the pressing movements.

    Also the usual fish oil/Tylenol/soaking in hot water etc.

    Do I want 12" or 24"?

    Of course EFS is out of stock so I would probably buy APT.

    go 24, 12 is pretty short. the longer it is = more times you can wrap it around = more support, especially if you use the casting technique mentioned above.

    Ordering now. I also need t-shirts but I need about 30 more pounds before I feel compfortable wearing an APT shirt with a fucking gorilla holding 1000 pounds or whatever the fuck designs they have :rofl:

    i had the same problem...horrible forearm pain when benching heavy

    picked up some wrist wraps and it's MUCH better...still not 100% though

    my wrists hurt SOHP'ing even with wraps until i switched to a suicide grip

    haven't looked back
