    Farscape and Babylon 5.

The stories are unmatched by anything I've ever watched. The characters are awesome. And on both of them, by the 2nd season it's like smoking crack.

Laugh it up, fuzzball! You know I was right about Farscape, and I admit you were right about B5. :)

Definitely. And watch them IN ORDER, BEGINNING TO END. If you don't do that, nothing will make sense and it'll look stupid.

    um
why is Kosh > the rest of the Vorlons?

and the Shadows ships look a lot better than the ugly Vorlon ships.

because kosh (well, the one you called kosh from the beginning) was laying plans to prevent a pointless rampage way in advance, and his lessons for sheridan were way more profound than anything any other vorlons had to offer. For instance, truth being a three-edged sword.

Also, kosh sacrifices himself to help in sheridan's plans. He could have easily done nothing, but he allowed (most of) himself to be destroyed in order to help sheridan. That's more than the other vorlons did.

As for the shadow ships looking better, i'll agree to a point, but whereas the shadows were insidious, somewhat patient, and vicious, the vorlons were methodical, calm, and disciplined. I'm not saying the shadows weren't cool, but the Vorlon level of discipline and plans within plans within plans made them cooler than the shadows to me.

hope that clears it up for you.

I tried to watch the latest movie, the one about the Rangers last nite... and wow was it ever bloody horrible. Acting was bad, the story was bad, the 'weapons system' they used was soo lame. After about an hour I couldn't finish it. It is suppose to lead into the Crusade. However I don't know if i can bring my self to watching it after I saw how bad the movie was. No original actors =! a good show. Its funny how they tried to just throw in G'Kar into the movie.

Also the rangers were not run by the Grey Council right? Just by 'The One' which was Sheridan. Yet one of the members was on trial for fleeing from battle, which is just one of the codes of the Rangers, plus the dude from Human.

Another thing that ticked me off was how Sheridan was supposedly alive. They said there ship was over 20 years old, however the ship they were using was definately a post-White Star design. White Stars were used far after Sheridan 'died', and since he only had a maximum of 20 years to live. He has to be dead.

And now the mind boggler. It says the movie was written by J. Michael Straczynski. :wtf: was he thinking. You would think the creator of Babylon 5 would realize that Sheridan should of been dead.

I watched the first few seasons of B5 and then stopped for some reason.

I really enjoyed the closed story arch (i.e., the creator had an end point he was writing towards, where the Star Treks were more open-ended).

Yeah, that's a big part of what I liked about it too. That from the very first episode, he already had the whole story planned out and the story was working towards its conclusion from the beginning.

Until they cut it down to 4 season, forcing JMS to cram 2 seasons worth of story into season 4, then extended it after that was done, so that he had to come up with enough story to fill another season.

So I watched Thirdspace and River of Souls.

Neither one of them was anywhere near as good as the show. Maybe B5 just doesn't work as an encapsulated bit of story and needs to be part of the long arc.

Also, it doesn't really work without Sheridan, Delenn, Londo, G'Kar, etc. It just wasn't the same. Captain Lochley is hot, but she just can't carry the show.

Too much Drahk in the movies if i remember correctly. As villians they just don't do it for me. Its just a copy of the Shadows IMO.

I couldn't finish River of Souls, that was the last one i tried to watch. After an hour, i just had to shut it off. It was even worse than some of the episodes of season 1 (i.e. Soul Hunter).

You didn't miss much. The movie was just a 2 hour soul hunter episode. :hs:

    :eek4: :eek4: :eek4: :eek4: .........:ugh:

This is why I am afraid to watch the 'Crusade' series.

Its funny how they got damn near all of the regular B5 very well done, but they can't seem to do a single thing decent afterwards.

At least with Farscape, The Peacekeeper Wars was just as good, if not better than the series.

but farscape didnt come to a definitive end until PKW. B5 had a very definite end (as it was planned all along). The B5 movies don't serve the same purpose as PKW, really.
