Well, actually I lied. I did shoot a few shots at a friends wedding a month ago but I wasn't the "official" photographer and I only brought one lens and one camera. Anyway, yesterday I shot my first ever official wedding. What a trip! 7.5 hrs. of non stop action!!

I just finished my first edit of 1072 shots, culling those down to 887 keepers. From those, I'll present the B&G with about 400 or so.

I gotta tell you....you guys who shoot weddings every week are heros! That's a lot of damn hard work!! I loved every minute of it too!!

So, here are a few of the pics.

Thanks mang! Actually, this shot needs some PS work to make it better. His hands are too hot. I'll do some dodging later.

The shot is very simple really, flash was set to "stun" and the flash head was at 25mm. Lens a 16mm.

Decent set Colman, though none of them have that magical/wedding feel to me. They seem a bit too...i dunno...real. I don't know how to really explain it. You can tell it must have been a sunny day and you were using flash so you had to stay around 1/200 - 1/250th and a higher fstop, which created wayy too much clarity for that location.

With that said, I would break out your clone tool and get rid of random lights, candles, handicapped parking signs etc that, to me, are distracting.

Also, I know things are crazy and you have to be quick to stay on top of things but there are some great shots ruined by hard, geometric, distracting backgrounds.

Props on your first one though man. I the B&G should be happy.

Thanks. I haven't even begun the PS work yet. I spent 5 hours just tweaking all 800+ pics in Lightroom. I'll get to the serious PS work later this week.

I think the B&G will really like these...'specially seeing that they only paid me $500 for the job.

I really like several of them, such as catching the brides happiness, when she looked at her husband at different times, it's all over her face. I like the shot of the men that you guys were just talking about, except for how "hot" his hands are as you've said. The flowers and rings were a great idea...but a few of them I didn't understand. You got a picture of some of the decore on the benches with the couple blurred in the background...if it were my wedding picutures I wouldn't have cared for that one as much, same with the picture you took of the camcorder viewing them. It's unique, but I'd want more shots that showed me and my new husband up close or something, not so much interesting little things at the wedding that look like a good picture. I love all the ones you got of the groom and his men, they're just so unique and awesome, catches a great mood. :) The little girl is adorable too. Does the baby have any significance to the couple though?
For a first time, this is amazing though. :big grin: You can only get better. Congrats.

Thanks for your feedback. I've got about 60 or more shots of the B&G at the alter so that's why I posted the "unique" shots. The baby is, iirc, a niece. Reagardless, she was really cute therefore I had to take her pic!

This was a $500 "Craigslist special". Since I'd never shot a wedding before, I agreed to do this job for the experience and to have some images to put on my website.

And what exactly must you give in return?

ALSO, what all equipment did you use?
