:bowrofl: @ vag regulars who troll me in the main forum (I'm mostly looking at you, McCohen)

I figured some of this crosses over into stuff we talk about here, so linky linky: http://forums.offtopic.com/showthread.php?t=4408649

I guess you can reply in this thread if you want a serious discussion, or reply in that thread for more lulz.

Why don't you just copy/paste so the rest of us can read it.

Wait, what? No subs can't go into the main forum? I thought no subs couldn't read the Vag, either. I'm confused.

    Anyway, here you go:

Most of the 16 pages of replies were trolls saying that I was wrong (mostly about the financial stuff), yet not offering evidence to support themselves (typical trolling). It was fun for a while, but then I got bored and left the thread :dunno:

"Learn how to shut down salesmen. You don't need whatever it is they're selling. When done properly, this can be loads of fun."

Can you explain this one farther, what do you mean? How is it loads of fun? Just say no and hang up like always?

I agree with most of them except your extreme penny pinching ways. Money is earned to acquire assets, not to leave in bank accounts you don't touch. Make money and get stuff with it, stuff that enhances your life, like passive income properties or trips to Europe.

I mean more salesmen IRL (like car salesmen) than like telemarketers. Sometimes when I go to the mall I'll fuck around with the salesmen in the kiosks. I really don't want their stuff, but if they're being excessively annoying/pushy and I have time to kill, I'll do #2 below.

    Well, two parts:

    1. Learn to say "no." Some people have trouble doing that, which is why they buy shit they don't need.

    2. (this is probably just me), but I have fun messing with them. Get a salesman to contradict himself and then call him on it. That cracks me up. Or sometimes I'll ask them a question about the product and notice that they don't answer it, instead they answer the question they wished I had asked. This drives me nuts to no end, so I'll usually say something like "if the next sentence out of your mouth doesn't begin with 'the answer to your question is...' then I'm leaving."

As long as you can afford it, buy whatever you want.

Have you ever been on this forum? Most people need "basic" advice.

Why are they correct to troll the financial part? It's not incorrect.

    I love OT.

Person 1: x is the case.
    Person 2: No it's not, you're wrong.
Person 1: Here is empirical proof of x. Please disprove me if it's wrong.
Person 2: No, you're just wrong because I know it's wrong. lol.
Person 1: Welcome to my IL

That being said, as I predicted, people took offense because they wanted to justify their bad habits to themselves. That's fine with me, I really don't care what other people do with their money.

oh lol, i see wolfskymoon is trolling up this thread through just_another_on's quote :mamoru:

Why should you live "way, way below your means"? Just live within your means. What are you saving money for?

Unknown future expenses (aka. "oh shit" events. For example I had over $10k in medical expenses last year out of nowhere. Good thing I don't live paycheck to paycheck)

Retirement (the sooner the better, working blows)

I've honestly stopped reading his posts.

And I want to read them, dammit. I truly do. But it's like I get two sentences into them and I start spazzing out and doing convulsions and shit.

No. From time to time your posts are useful to me, or we have some sort of intelligent conversation, etc. :bigthumb:
