I know probably none of you know me, but I'm doing a build on my 92 GMC Typhoon. It's a slow process, but I'm getting there. Here's some pictures so far. I've done a complete rebuild. Forged internals, nitrided crank, four-bolt splayed-mains, ported Bowtie aluminum heads, port matched modified stock intake, alcohol injection, etc... I'm going with a GT35R for the turbo, and it looks as though I will be using an air to air intercooler setup because I can't fit the stock air to water in anymore because of my turbo placement and downpipe location. Pretty much everything on here is one-off. I don't know if I have anything that is bolt-on. I made the headers out of 1.5" stainless pipe, and I'm in the midst of building the downpipe and exhaust out of 3" tubing. Here's the pictures because no one really wants to read all of this... if you have any questions, feel free to ask and I'll try to answer them. Here's our (TiAL) new ported S-cover with the all new designed shroud. Not my idea, but my design A few pics of the drivers-side header and cross-over. A decent look at the passenger side header. Our turbine inlet flange doesn't quite match up with the pipe I'm using instead of tubing, so I've modified it a bit on the manual lathe. Some more views of the engine bay with the mock-up turbo installed and the downpipe started. Some views of the downpipe construction. Downpipe installed. It lines up perfectly with the stock exhaust route, but I may need to put a v-band coupler after the first few bends so that I can get it in and out more easily. Even at my cost, the price of the v-band flanges and clamps adds up quickly. Sweet ass mock-up The obligatory turbo-humping pic. Some more pics... Figuring out the 2-1 merge. I'll probably put the TiAL 44mm gate right here after the merge, and dump it underneath the truck. Plus as a special bonus to you, the shocker . The current status of the Tycoon. Any comments welcome.
