Here's my goofy tat. Before you say it looks like crap and what the hell was the artist doing with that, read this. When my wife and I first moved out together 12 years ago we were dirt poor. It was just her and I and our cat. We didn't have a huge entertainment budget so we pretty much did stuff around the house. I had a large fish tank that I moved in with us but I wanted to build a stand and top for it. So the three of us built one in the garage and then we decided to paint it. We were being goofy so my wife and I dipped our hands and feet in colored paint and "stamped" the stand and top. We wanted to get our cat involved too so we dipped her paws in the paint and then had her walk across it. Once it had dried I wanted to "sign" it so I painted a portrait of the three of us. I used a Q-tip and some black paint and pretty much scribbled it on there. Almost as soon as I had painted it I thought that it would make an awesome tattoo someday. Fast forward 11 years. My wife and I had moved on to bigger and better things but we still had the cat and the fish tank lid and stand. One of the cats favorite things to do was lay on top of the tank where the lights under the lid heated the top. Whenever I would get home I could hear her plop down off of it onto the foor and run downstairs to meet me. Then we got the bad news - our cat had been diagnosed with cancer. We tried all sorts of things to help her out (that's a completely different thread) but decided that the best thing that we could do was make her as comfortable as possible for as long as was feasible. She made it almost 6 months until we had to make the decision to put her down. We called the vet and had her come over and she put her down in her favorite spot right on top of the tank that she loved. The next week I made an appointment to have the tattoo done. I had the top of the tank photo documented pretty well and had the artist recreate it as close to life as possible - hence the smeared lines and stuff that doesn't line up exactly right. Anyway if you read this far you probably think I'm a wack job but whatever. Here it is.
