Those OG of you might remember that my 2000 TL also had a transmission failure.

I am pissed beyond all belief. I was cruising on a local highway on my way home from an errand and the thing basically lost it's gear, and picked another (much too low) gear, causing me to nearly hit a car in front of us.

I own an extended warranty to 100,000 miles or 2008 on it, so I call the dealer expecting good service, and they tell me I will have to deal with it until they can get me a loaner in A WEEK OR TWO.

25k car + 1k for extended transmission = NOTHING. I'm done with Acura after this car.

    ACURA :rl:

ACE, my advice to you is this, I bought this car for work, for driving to palces and for being reliable. This is the SECOND TIME I have been proved otherwise. Don't make my mistake.

i have a 2001 TL, i'm pretty glad they extended that warranty after hearing about all the problems, but if they're going to be assholes like that when they know they're doing it for free...even still, i guess it's better than them not extending it at all.

it probably varies from dealer to dealer anyway :x:

That's what you get for buying an AUTOMATIC transmission.

All my Honda manual transmissions have been BULLET proof!! I've only had problems with the clutch, but it was was past when it was supposed to be replaced.

There is no way you can drive it to the dealer. First call the dealerships service manager. If he says he cant get you in right away, then call CS and them them you are out a car, yadda yadda. They will hook it up
