My totally amazing new stereo. Gaze upon my works, ye mighty, and despair.

...just kidding. It's not amazing, it's just a step up from stock. But I'm good at soldering and heatshrinking and I chose good parts, so it sounds really clean.

I couldn't have made it look more stock if I'd tried -- well, actually I did try, but I'm still pretty sure I couldn't make it look more stock than this. It's kind of a superstock system, nothing fancy, just clearer treble and a bit more punch in the bass.

    Not bad for $450. :wiggle:

I bought it all from Crutchfield, and since I live 2 hours north of Charlottesville VA (their HQ), I suppose you could say I bought it locally. I love Crutchfield; anyone can sell you a stereo, but they gave me the wiring harness adaptors, speaker offset adaptors, and VW headunit keys for free. (I still had to drill out the OEM speaker rivets myself, though. Who fucking uses rivets in a car stereo, anyway?)

The Clarion headunit was $150, and the Infinity Reference speakers were $150 per pair of woofers, tweeters, and crossovers. 13 pieces of hardware in all.
