    8x10 canvas, acrylic

I actually tried painting something that was somewhat based in reality this time. Looking for helpful critique and tips.

I definitely need a smaller, thinner brush.... I would have liked to taper the "branches" more to a point and with more precision. Next time!

hey at least you improve. i wish i could do that, but have horrible time using my hands like that, can barely write legibly, cant draw because of that either.

Ha, I understand! Half of this painting is me painting over a mistake or unwanted twitch of the hand. I have poor penmanship too :o

Well the background took a half hour or so because it had to dry. And then, because this is only my third painting ever, it probably took me another 30 minutes to paint it, what with me correcting my mistakes and sloppiness and all.

I WISH this took me 10 minutes :h5:

Are you trying to emulate a certain style, recreate something, etc? or just painting shit for your college dorm room?

I'm 25... no dorm room. I'm just painting for fun, as a new extension of my creativity. I'm seriously jumping into this with zero knowledge

Well, what's your goal? Is this just stress relief? Just curious. I'm painting something right now for my grandmother (although I'd hardly call myself a painter).
