I installed mysql about 2 months ago. The computer crashed and I just got around to fixing it. I forgot the root password. I have tried a bunch of them and its not working. So I uninstalled it, and reinstalled it, but when it gets to the stage where I enter my root password it still asks for the old one. I have tried reseting it with the mysql-init.txt method listed in the online documentation. Thats not working. Its my computer, so I can do anything I need to get it fixed, but I cannot think of another way to fix it. Maybe a reg edit after I unistall? I do not need any information in the data base, so I can erase it or anything you reccomend. Does anyone have an idea?
