i'm XP sp2 on my toshiba sateelite notebook. for some reason i cant get any sound out of the built in speakers. no system sounds, no sound form cd's, nothing. i recently uninstalled a bunch of programs that i thought werent being used (yah, im and idiot with computers and thought some were spy ware) and i think i might have gotten rid of a critical sound driver or something... is that even possible?

i ran the trouble shooter and it said to check to see if my audio device was turned on, but i cant even find it. i went o DEVICE MANAGER > SOUND, VIDEO AND GAME CONTROLLERS and these are the entries listed:
    -audio codecs
    -legacy audio drivers
    -legacy video capture devices
    -media control devices
    -video codecs

is there supposed to be one for "audio devices"? becasue it isnt there.
its like it doesnt exist. is there a way to restore it? how? thanks, much aprpreciated

Go to toshiba's website, find the downloads section for your model, and find the audio drivers. That should fix things :)
