All I have left to do is get a new rear take down pin and a matching gas tube cover and it's done.:wiggle:

Here is what it looked like when I got it.

:werd: as far as I know the chinese were the only ones to make a plastic stock for them, never seen a new one for sale in the plastic stock though.

I will have to look at the writing & symbols when I get home, haven't fired it with the 30 in yet. The factory mag broke and wouldn't lock the bolt back, thats why I put the 30 in, since I had it. Have you found any reliable hi-cap mags?

I see them used on gunbroker, but thats about it. The more I look, I'm almost positive it's a Norinco. Not too bad for a free gun with 600+ rounds of ammo with it.

Once your sure what it is I'de try to pick up another factory mag for it, I never found any high caps that worked 100% The few I had varied from a couple malfuctions per mag to one malfuction every 3rd reloading. I said fuck it and went back to the 10 rounder dead reliable not the bad to reload with strippers, wouldn't mind picking up another sks that takes ak mags from the factory, but there more money then an AK now.

There pretty nice rifles, accuracy is a bit better then an AK, but they seem to be going for $300+ these days, they use to be like $150 :madfawk: Clinton

Im happy if I can find a decently priced sks. Theres usually only a cpl guys carrying the russian and chinese ones at the shows, and they usually have them marked up pretty good. Hell, the yugos are a ripoff there too. I think if we had a gun show more often theyd have more deals.

and I can forget about being able to find one that accepst ak mags there. I think I only found a total of a dozen or so sks's there last time I went

    Replaced stock.
Swapped out factory mag for 30 rnd.
Took off B-Square scope mount and scope.

Nothing major, but I think it looks a hell of a lot better.

Still have to get one that matches. Got the stock from my buddy, but he didn't have the upper piece to match it. Will probably pick one up this week.

I wish I still had the factory wood stock for my SKS. I have a black synthetic folding pistol grip stock on mine right now.
