Yes, darker in the front, a speedlight with Balance Fill would help with the exposure of the subject.

lighting is off, she should have angled towards the sun more... or you needed some fill flash.. overall composition doesnt really work for me either.

nice colors, but your subject would look a LOT better if her face were illuminated by fill flash. you'd get rid of unflattering shadows... and if you angle the light correctly, you can use your flash to create highlights in her eyes and lower lip that will make those features pop out. eyes and lips nigga.

looking at your flickr account, i see you are quite adept at using available light. this is one case where you needed flash though. :hs:

Her face was too dark use shadow highlight + curves + contrast + selective color to fix that...

it looks better, but it's unfortunate that the background -- especially the flower bed -- has become more washed out as a result :o

I mean that's an easy fix if I felt like cropping her and fiddling with layers :o more focused on the under exposed dark face.

:werd: i understand. he's got to work with what he has.

i'm just encouraging him to use flash more often, because there's no way to replicate that with PP. plus, he'd be saving himself a lot of PP time.

Using the flash in the sunlight is a common mistake of photographers. I use it outdoors all the time...
