same deal as last week but at a different shop and different cars. This shop was much more full of crap and no real big open areas. reflections were a bitch bc everything was so closed in, distracting backgrounds and yada yada yada:ugh: I used my diffuser for the flash in front of the model and i definitely think it helped especially compared to last weeks. I also had a camera to the side and back to highlight her but i think it was a bit too high as u can see it gets blown out a good amount

    anyways here they are

and as always C&C ftw :bigthumb:

    6. I was being experimental with this one. the flash was pointed right at the camera.

7 For these two I dont know which one would be better. having the model looking at it and smiling or looking at the camera and smiling when she was using the tool. what do u guys think?

Ya. shes not an actual model. shes family friends with the people filming the commercial for the products so she is just helping out.

i think I much prefer the idea of honest portraits of real mechanics than almost models pretending to be models.

I NEVER would have guessed that's the product.... you need to showcase the product more than the model/cars. Lighting is way to harsh, and there's no real separation from the BG... in most of those shots your model is kind of lost in the BG.

    really?

If you would have asked me what these products advertised, I would have guessed the following order:

    1. goofy ricer parts for cars (cross drilled rotors and pretty coolant lines...)
    2. a cheap hooker than can check my oil AND my cars oil.
    3. I don't really have a 3rd guess....

The "model" is really distracting, and not in a good way. :hs:

points taken. probably close ups of the wrench on the bolt/nut would have worked better. They were filming a commercial where they talked more about the tools and did some close ups with them so i guess these are more supplemental to that than anything. but i should have done close ups.

they told me they want shots like the ones here but i suppose i should have taken a bit more charge and thought about things like that. plus it kinda sucks working around their filming schedule but thats part of what is needed.
