...first thing I noticed is that I have to rotate it the opposite way of my Tamron 17-50 f/2.8...completely threw me off at first

I'm assuming all Canon lenses are like this–seems counter-intuitive, but maybe that's because I'm accustomed to the Tamron :dunno:

:h5: for the quick shipment Mike.

    I'll be getting the 24-70 f/2.8 Monday

Fucking UPS has it nearby but their damned HUB closed early yesterday so I couldnt pick it up  and they dont run tomorrow, and I didnt have the funds at the time to pay for overnight shipping,s tupid forgotten bills :o

Was really hoping to have it for a shoot tomorrow but its ok and its not mikes fault its mine!!! I have more shoots line dup in December to make up for it

If I decided i like the 24-70 i'll be ordering one of my own.

I just came here really to say how awesome LensLoaners is

I took it out to Dana Point to take some pictures of my wife running the 10k Turkey Trot. Initially, I'm not all that impressed with the lens. I wish I would have sacrificed range for the faster f/2.8

There's a lot to be said for the 2.8... IS doesn't solve everything. But then, you're just getting into the whole 24-70 vs 24-105 debate again
